God’s Word For Our World

We believe serving civil servants in Scriptural ways has a saving effect as brilliantly designed by God.

We are privileged to serve civil servants at all levels of government for the Savior’s sake. Our pastoral work is for their good and God’s glory.

We simply love our “missions to politicians.” In a world and an America rife with the strife of politics, our non-partisan philosophy is rare among Christians and refreshing to the elected officials we have touched in over 30 U.S. Capitols and beyond.

Our statehouse studies endeavor to build and bolster an unapologetically Christian worldview in the hearts of those whom God has ordained to office “for there is no governing authority except as has been ordained by God” (Romans 13:1).

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." — Galatians 2:20 NASB
Pastor Arin's life verse.

Testimony of Pastor Arin Hess

In 1971 our family moved back to the Colorado farm from north Seattle, Washington.  We started school that fall in the little town of Campo and began making adjustments from urban to rural life.  My brother Dana, nearly my twin, and I enjoyed the opportunity of participating in sports.  After a basketball game in January of 1972, my brother felt rejected by his girlfriend.  The next day he took his life in suicide.  It was a shock to our entire family.

My world came crashing down.  I asked how there could be a good God in heaven when something bad like this happened to my family.  I questioned the very existence of God.  My life was lived as if God did not exist.  I became a practicing agnostic.  A struggle with meaning and significance followed.  The only thing worth getting seemed to be the pleasure of the moment.  My living was consumed with the fast life and many sinful things.  I had nagging questions in my soul.  If I were to die, where would I go?  Why am I here?  What is life all about?

In July of 1973, when I was seventeen, I came over the crest of a hill and nearly hit a black Angus cow in the middle of the road.  After arriving home, I struggled with the thought of death and entrance into eternity.  In repentance and faith, I cried out to God, “Lord, if You are real, please save me!”  And praise God, He did!  In an instant, I was made a child of God.  The sweetness of God’s peace flooded my soul, and the joy of purpose for living now rested in my heart.  Jesus Christ had saved me by His grace, and now, I wanted to live for His glory.

The Lord directed me to Bob Jones University and called me into His ministry.  He gave me a precious Christian wife, Anne Marie, and blessed us with four wonderful children.

Truly, “The Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.” Psalm 100:5
