Dear <<First Name>>:

Capitol Studies
February Update

Chaplain of the Day

A highlight in the past month was my opportunity to be the Chaplain of the Day for the Legislature. This meant that I got to lead in prayer on the Legislative floor. I was thankful for this opportunity to interact with some senators that I typically do not see.
I have been spending quite a bit of time at the Capitol, trying to be supportive and accessible at hearings, press releases, and on the legislative floor. I am also attempting to build relationships by personally delivering the weekly Bible studies to each office. Though most take a study, a few are not very receptive. Because of their opposition, I am a bit more restricted in my access to the tower offices.

Nehemiah Bible Studies

The 2022 Legislative session is well underway, and the Nehemiah Bible studies with the senators and their staff have resumed. If you would like to follow along with the Bible studies in Nehemiah, you can find a new one each week at our Capitol Studies Website. As you can see in the picture, the room is getting quite crowded. It has been encouraging to see the positive response!
There are many needs represented by each of the attendees. Some have recently lost loved ones, and I have been able to pray with them and offer words of encouragement from Scripture. Most are fighting lonely battles trying to stand for what they believe is right. Together we have shared Nehemiah’s example of courage, perseverance, and faith in God. Some have not yet trusted Christ as Savior but seem to be seeking. Every week we pray that He will do the work that needs to be done in each heart.

Your Prayers Make a Difference!

Your prayers have made a difference. The weekly Bible studies are well-attended. Another church has taken on Capitol Studies for monthly support. Our need for someone to set up the weekly template for our Bible study has been met by a new volunteer. And we also have several new friends who are helping to provide food or finances for the Bible study meals.

Would you continue to pray for these requests?

  • A bigger room for the Bible studies and meals
  • That God will continue to meet the needs of hearts
  • That the opposition to the Bible study will not keep people away who need to come
  • That more people will support the ministry of Capitol Studies by praying, by donating and by volunteering

Thank you for being a part of our team of supporters. You are appreciated!

May God Bless You!
